Re: Here is my theory

Are you aware that some of the manifold bolts are different lengths? Need to have the right ones in the right places! You know, there is more than one kind of fuel pressure test you needed to do. Obviously, the first was overall pressure, which you didn't do. 30-40 psi can make fuel spray all over ...

An electric motor, you say. Like the starter?

Re: Here is my theory

Did you read the reviews before you paid for it? A gauge that's not accurate does no good. I got my actron from sears for $35 (on sale) and I've had it for years with no problems or even hints of problems. You do get what you pay for and since your van has been down for a while, saving a couple buck...

Re: Here is my theory

I have to ask, where did you order this gauge from? What kind is it? That just seems like a long time to have to wait for something to be shipped.

Re: Here is my theory

Your jumping around again. Untill the fuel pressure is tested and verified good don't do anything. If it is good then yes a spider is in order. The plug in on the spider. Test leads in there. crank it. It should show voltage make the needle jump. Or wild number changes on a digital gauge. Or test l...

Very good, sir. You owe me a new keyboard. Electronics and monster don't mix too well.

Re: Problems with the Windstar

There was a TSB out on the 3.8L windstars. The factory coils had these holes in the top of them, very small. But the problem was that when it rained, the water might channel down and drip right onto the coils, get in the holes and create a short. It would take a couple days to dry out and they would...

Re: Here is my theory

Just because it's new doesn't mean it's good. Great point! Also doesn't mean it was installed right. I've seen too many of those. That's why you want to troubleshoot and test first, even before removing anything. That way, when you change something, you can retest and verify it made the correct cha...

Re: Rear Pop-Open windows for Barn Doors

Just to throw this out there but if you drive with those windows open, it will suck exhaust fumes into your van. I know you would think that if you have the front door windows open and those rear ones open, air should come in the front and go out the rear but aerodynamics doesn't work quite that way...

Re: Here is my theory

Ok, I'm officially confused. You stated that you sprayed starting fluid down the intake and it would momentarily run. Are you saying it no longer does that? Unless something else happened that I missed, there is no reason to do anything or suspect another failure until you test the components of the...

Re: Here is my theory

STOP! :hand: Have you check the fuel pressure yet? If no, do absolutely nothing until you do. Sure, you may have other problems but trying to fix all of them at the same time is IMPOSSIBLE. You have to establish a basis and build off of it. Not guess, guessing only makes your wallet thin and frustra...

Re: Carb cleaner in the intake?

Just to point out, carb cleaner is not safe to use with electronic sensors. Not only can it short out electrical circuits, it also leaves an oil residue once it dries. That's the difference between carb cleaner and MAF cleaners. :banghead: Don't spray anything that isn't sensor safe down the intake.

Re: Need Help, Info, Ideas ----> I gave up after #4 Trans ch

Granted, my van is older but I use a 700R4 out of my old 89 Firebird Formula. Direct bolt on and since its a stronger unit, a good upgrade. The newer F-bodies use an electric 4L60E and the V8 models will handle all of the torque you have. I can't personally say that its a direct bolton but maybe som...

Re: Question, question, question

Thanks for that input. Price isn't so much of a concern right now. Those lazers are about $300 a wheel. The hard part is finding wheels that have a 5x115 bolt pattern and the right offset. I am kind of leaning away from the chrome wheel though. Just waiting to see that Haze and maybe the Santa Cruz....
