Re: Dash and switches into LED, **pic heavy**

Great info. Thanks for the write up. Great tip on painting the runners for the window switches. Being the electronic neophyte that I am. I assume the bulb change in the window and mirror switches is more for color change. It would be a great benefit if you could make a shopping list for guys like m...

Re: Astrotardis---Tinted windshield!!

I've done it to plenty of my previous cars, I like the look. As I have gotten older my vision is not EAGLE anymore so tinting my windshield is out of the question. And NYC has just changed the tint law this passed January to now have the inspection stations test tint levels as part of the inspection...

Re: Stereo Upgrade

X3, most likely stock speakers are blown. Most likely 5 1/4" in size, and are fairly inexpensive to get a set of 4.

Re: Rear leaf hanger rubbing

Sooooo,Yeah..... Took a good look at my leaf springs yesterday, I just love my slight upward arch they have,LOL. Gotta address that issue asap. Now, to add to my problem... for the last three or so months, just about every time I come to a complete stop I feel a slight rocking/moving motion coming f...

Re: Dash and switches into LED, **pic heavy**

Great writeup, thank you.... Also on my to-do list...... Does the IP illumination dimming function still work with these bulbs? I seem to recall reading somewhere that the LEDs somebody used didn't dim down correctly or something - can't recall the details..... Yeah, dimmer function usually does no...

Re: Rear leaf hanger rubbing

those are not the right clamshells for your springs This is what I purchased 3 1/2 years ago from rockauto. So which clamshell should I have bought? At the time I was contemplating cutting the oem clam shell and welding a extension to make up for the extra leaf that came on the new springs, but I g...

Re: Rear leaf hanger rubbing

clamshells are bending where they dont fit right due to wrong clamshell/spring combo. not good Because of the inverted arch and the clamshell I would consider adding another leaf to the pack to help with the load and adding a little reinforcement to the clamshell with spacers and new bolts. Those c...

Dash and switches into LED, **pic heavy**

So another project in the books. swapped out all the bulbs in the dash and switches to LED's. I went all blue and just want to share what I did and how I did. Some or most of the bulbs will require you to reuse the factory bulb holder, easy enough. Just unravel the bulbs from each respective holder ...

Re: Rear leaf hanger rubbing

OUCH!!!!!!, I really understand why Timbrens are liked soooo much, and I will eventually buy that set, but at $214.00 it's just to rich for my broke behind for now. I did find the energy suspension 9.9101G bump stops, they are affordable for my broken self @ $11.37 a pair. I'm figuring anything is b...

Today was rear brake check/adjustment and bolt checking all I could. Rear brakes didn't look to bad for almost 4 years of use.

Rear leaf hanger rubbing

So yesterday was front brakes, now today is inspecting and adjusting the rear brakes when I noticed on both sides that the inner part of the leaf clam shell thing is rubbing on the outer part of the vans frame rail. Is there a way to adjust this so it does not rub/ hit any longer? Obligatory pic htt...
