The factory stereo isn't bad; the speakers are.

Re: My next build ...

140k is nothing. My '99 had over 250k on it when I had to replace 1 wheel bearing - both were OEM. It was still on its original fuel pump and alternator. LIM & water pump were done at about 270k. My '02 has 230k on it with the original fuel pump, alternator, water pump and wheel bearings. I need...

Re: Canadian Astro!

Looks like an '01 to me.

1. No tow/haul (was an option, but most have it - an not avail. on a '96)
2. Newer style stereo
3. Tweeters in the doors

That's not a '96.

Re: Canadian Astro!

It's AWD, right? Slide under and take a pic of the tag on the transfer case.

Round red tag with New Process NP136 on it, it's a '99+.

Re: 1997 AWD Astro Transfer Case Fluid

Shouldn't cause any issues at all, but I would drain and refill.

Not stupid; that's why I always mention '99+ when I also mention AutoTrak II: I'm trying to avoid any confusion.

Re: What have you done to/with your van today?

My husband had to heat the living crap out of the knuckle to get all 3 loose on my '99. And I'd been spraying both the heads and through the back for 2 hrs by the time he got home with the blue wrench. I have noi idea why the holes are open through the knuckle on those - water and salt gets in there...

Re: What have you done with your other vehicles today.

This seems like as good a place to post as any, lol.. So the wife has a '13 Patriot, AC compressor clutch went out at 83K, and I was looking all over to see if you can just bypass it,( the Denso compressor for these isn't cheap) to no avail even on the stupid Patriot owners forum. I refuse to sign ...

Re: 1997 AWD Astro Transfer Case Fluid

Your 1997 calls for Dexron. It's 1999 and up the needs Autotrak II.

So drain it and refill it with Dexron.

Re: Transfer case no fluid

I'm surprised myself that it's behaving normal right now. I'm sure I shortened it's life span. I didn't think of it leaking into the tranny, thanks for the tip. There is a seal to prevent that, so if this fluid disappears, you're gonna hafta pull the case and check it. And check your tranny fluid l...

Re: Temp sensor/ sensors 93 Astro

On a '93 the second temp sender is on the passenger side; it's a one-wire sender. It's on the driver's side on a Gen 2. Also, the sender for the gauge cluster has nothing to do with the engine; it's for the gauge only. The one up front affects running. Time to look at your EGR valve and see if it's ...

Re: Astrotardis---Tinted windshield!!

Total no on the windshield tint here. Not only illegal, but something they look for. That was one thing Isuzu did well on my Trooper. It looked like clear glass, but was bronze tint and did an amazing glare and heat reduction job. When I had to replace it, OEM was almost $500 and clear with blue tin...

Re: Replacing Spider Fuel Injector or regulator step by step

I had a very, very slightly used AC Delco. I'd recommend that or Delphi.
