Re: What have you done with your other vehicles today.

Got it. So it's not for me, it's for my stepdaughter. One owner - my best friend's husband. 2000 Honda Accord LX ULEV 2.3 4cyl. 241,000 miles, but tranny was replaced at 180k. A rust bubble on the hood, some rust passenger side front. I'll take care of that. Driver's side light housing is foggy but ...

No, that's like the CPI in my '93 Astro and Bravada. I wrote that up here:

Re: Does such an Astro exist?

No posi, my '93 Bravada has a posi with the 3.73s.

It is R-12 and it worked when I brought it home.

Re: Does such an Astro exist?

My '93 CL has both front and rear AC, fog lights, dutch doors, power locks (no keyless), power windows, overhead console, two-color paint, 3.73 gears, CD player, tilt-wheel, power driver's seat. I've seen that era cargo vans without AC. 4c7d_3.JPG 4d14_3.JPG 5201_3.JPG IMG_0100.JPG IMG_0101.JPG IMG_...

Re: Replacing Upper Ball Joint: what am I doing wrong?

Nope, not as long as you use grease regularly.

Re: Dutch doors vs. barn doors

I have both. I prefer the Dutch doors. Easier to see out of, defrost in the winter, wiper whenever.

Re: Pics of the 'new' '02 Astro

And you SHOULD be smacked for that. Hartford and West Hartford are NOT the same. Nor is Hartland and West Hartford. Do you know nothing???? :naughty:

And she did go to Conard, right? Not Hall?

Plain cheese usually has less grease in the box, so sure! ;)

Re: What have you done to/with your van today?

I was surprised. It was running pretty well before at least one shorted, but now it's running really well.

Awesome job Leeann.

Sure. I'll tell her how much better SHS is than Conard. It'll all be good

Re: What have you done to/with your van today?

It did take a few beers. I've got 4 different kinds in the beer fridge, but I think the total was indeed around 6.

It was a pain, but man was she smooth on the way to/from the gas station. Had to watch the speedo 'cause I was going 10 over before I realized it.

Re: Pics of the 'new' '02 Astro

Looks like injector #4 was the problem, which tracks with the misfires I'd been getting for a while. IMG_2529.JPG Reinstalled the plenum cover and fuel lines. Note: lubricate the o-rings in the injector with fuel. Makes pushing the lines fully in place a lot easier. Then bolt everything back up. IMG...

Re: Pics of the 'new' '02 Astro

The old spider still installed: IMG_2514.JPG Injectors pull out, no clips. Twist them and wiggle them side to side to get them loose, then pull straight out. The spider is in a bracket that slides onto a bolt on the plenum. Slide it to the fatter part of the hole and pull off. My replacement spider ...

Re: Pics of the 'new' '02 Astro

Now fuel lines. At the back, it's 20mm flare for the bracket nuts and 16mm flare for the line nuts. Get them loose, then remove the bracket bolt from the plenum - 15mm, I think. Oh, plenum bolts require 10mm deep. Now the fuel lines going into the injector have a bracket holding them in place - two ...

Re: Pics of the 'new' '02 Astro

So, to recap: hubby drove the Astro 20 miles to pick up his new work van despite running on, at most, 5 cylinders. Ran like dog doo-doo...and I had to drive it home (cussing the whole way) with the SES light flashing the entire time. Code was P0200, generally indicating injector electrical failure, ...

Re: Searching..

Welcome!

I'm pretty partial to my AWDs. They're the bomb in any wet...snow, rain, whatever....

My best friend's dog loved my Astro. She could lay on the second row seat and see out in every direction - and bark at everything if she wished.
