Re: Milwaukee LKQ yard

Back in April when I was at Wallys pick and pull in Oshkosh pulling my van seats they had 5 or 6 vans.

Re: Milwaukee LKQ yard

Man only one can there right now that's not a good sign. Sucks to think that in a few years ya may never see A/S van at the yards anymore.

Re: "Wants" Checklist for buying an Astro/Safari

Just find yourself a nice clean well maintained van and the rest you can add if need be. The headlight options - Most people prefer the newer looking light, but I had the single headlight on my '96 and liked them. '95 had the older dash yet. I would love an AWD '03 and newer van....love those 6 lug ...

Re: What have you done with your other vehicles today.

Not really a vehicle but I opened up the Pop Up camper and once again mice and probably a red squirrel or two enjoyed it over the winter. I used like 100 Bounce dryer sheets when I put it away which was supposed to repel them. Last winter we tried some other method with little success. Fortunately ...

Re: What have you done with your other vehicles today.

Picked up this 2000 Grand Prix GT off my neighbor for cheap. My new daily ride. My wife wasn't happy at first but she got over it. It's got 170k on it and the rockers are toast behind the ground effects but it drives great. Been awhile since I owned a mid sized GM car with the 3.8L.....man I missed ...

Re: What have you done to/with your van today?

Road America had a Sunset Cruise open to the regular joes and I took the Green Beast out for 3 laps....was fun putting it in the corners. We only got to about 65 mph in the straight always. Was a fun time though. Only van on the track. Had more pics but they keep loading upside down :bangh...

Re: What have you done to/with your van today?

Well, over the weekend I got around to measuring the connecting rod journal for cyl #7. Not good, the "diameters" ranged from 2.0900 to 2.0620. So not round enough. Guess I'm not using that crankshaft. Now I got to figure out PLAN B. And maybe PLAN C. PLAN A was if the crankshaft was good...

Re: Remove ABS unit

^X2
Sounds like your rubber line is collapsed and will not allow the pressure out so your brake is sticking.
If you just changed that calipher no need to bleed all your brakes.

Re: Remove ABS unit

^Sounds like something that would happen in my garage too....I simply did not fill the little reservoir and could not figure out why I couldn't get brake fluid to the back.  For the record I was sober when I figured it out.

Re: What have you done with your other vehicles today.

That Vibe looks nice. The mileage is high, but the price is nice. Hard to find anything decent in that price range. I know cause it's been my price range for a long time....

Re: What have you done to/with your van today?

I would suspect a collapsing radiator hose at high engine speeds... Maybe your water pump is flowing good enough or your radiator is clogged. But I have to agree electric fans won't fix your issue.... What motor you have in there? I've got a 305 from a 1995 Silverado I won at an auction from a perf...

Re: Ride when lowered

My van rides nice, but if the road is bumpy then it sucks. Gotta watch for pot holes. Sounds like we have the same set up.(drop springs/flip kit)I have air shocks in rear w/fiberglass leafs so takes a big hole/bump for rear to ride rough. Run my air shocks at about 35psi. The front is jaw breaking. ...
