Re: Bad Ast Project

Nice job on both projects. You look to be as handy with the table saw as the welder.

My first impression of Win 8

:banghead: :screaming: :banghead: :screaming: :banghead: :screaming: :banghead: :screaming: The old laptop (Win7) died so I had no choice but to head to bestbuy. Who thought a Tablet interface was a great idea for a computer. I figured I could just convert/move some of my desk top icons to a tile to...

Re: van shakes less after driving on the highway?

When was your last tune up, did you use ACDelco parts? fuel filter, fuel drier and or cleaner. Is/has it been wet, heavy dew or foggy where you live.

Where I'm going on this is an ignition, emission or fuel issue, these van's have a few quirks.

A jIFFY lUBE story

Friday AM the foreman get's to the job and tells us his brakes went out on the way in, 95 Dodge Ram, which he bought 6 month ago . We pop the reservoir and it's empty, put some fluid in and got enough brakes back to get him home. When he got the truck I did a brake fluid and coolant flush, belt, che...

Re: max tire size with 1.5-2" torsion key lift?

I run BFG AT KO's on both rigs, 215x75 on the van 31x10.5 on the Wrangler. It is a bit harsher ride in the van (at 40psi) but not crazy, even in the light little Jeep, I don't even notice it now except for the way better handling.

Re: What have you done to/with your van today?

What they said.
I hit one a few weeks ago that had me holding my breath for a second waiting for the front end to slam onto the pavement.

Re: need stability

I think many people expect the A/S to ride like a Grand Caravan. They are both rated as mini van's but the MOPAR is based off a car where as the GM is based off a truck and thus rides more or less as such, and these vans are at least 9 years old running on 20-30 yo technology. Copy/past from another...

Re: What have you done to/with your van today?

Backed into a 2' tall 3" pipe sticking out of the parking lot while double checking the rear view for light poles, sign post etc. It wasn't right at or just behind the curb, but 1' in front of it and whatever it was protecting is long sense gone
No damage, just rattled me for a second.

Re: need stability

That can be any number or combination of things. Worn tires, suspension components, steering components, shocks, broken sway bar, alignment. Did it seem to just start or just seem worse do to adverse road conditions. When was your last alignment. If a visual inspection doesn't relieve something I'd ...

Re: Anyone fixed their 3rd brake light LED strip?

I think all of mine are out, I hit the brakes and run back there and nothing

:poke:

I've not taken mine apart, but I'd think it's just a PCB and thus you can check for cold solder joints and or de-solder the bad LED's and repair/replace them.
