Re: Stereo Upgrade

I have a SoundDesign stereo in the van. And a Kenwood in the chevelle. Both are cheap and sound good.

Unless you are looking for something you need earplugs to listen to. Break windows annoy anyone in a square mile. You know competition stuff.

Thanks for the responce, I will look into this. Do you know if there are any instructions to "drop the column"?

Lower dash piece 4 small screws. 4 bolt/screws at the firewall where it passes through. To big bolts where it bolts to the main brace. Done. Laying in the seat.

It is air in there still. I put the new box on mine it was doing that. It took forever to bleed it completely. Van on jack stands. Engine off turn it back and forth completely lock to lock 10 times, pump the brakes, fill it. Start it turn back and forth 2-3 times, pump the brakes. Shut it off and fi...

Re: Key Spins Freely In Ignition - Car wont start

something broke or came loose. there is a pushrod that connects the tumbler to the ignition switch. the switch is down low on the column by the pedal area, on top of the column. you have to drop the column to access the switch. i would be looking to see if that pushrod dropped out or disconnected. ...

Re: Overheated engine repair

If it runs right don't smoke and don't make bad noises knocking etc. Get a top end gasket set. while the heads are off look for clean cylinders. No carbon means it is getting water in it. Easy to trace. if it isn't a cracked head put it back together and good to go. It is alot easier to see if it is...

Re: Cold Air intake.

I made 2 of them over the years. Now I got a open element it likes that the best.

For your year there is a thread you drill holes in the air box in the right spots for extra air flow. It is basically sucking air between the hood and core support when you are through.

Re: Rear differential leak

Got it done, thanks for all the help!! Was not as bad as I thought it might be. One of the caps slipped off the ujoint when I was putting the drive shaft on and a few tiny needle bearings fell out... I put it back on for now and drove it round the block, seemed fine. Should I get a new ujoint asap ...

Re: Stalling when switching the car on

Get a fuel pump relay off e bay. They are cheap. Mine was stalling like that when the gauge was at the first notch on the temp gauge. New relay never did it again. Worth doing even if it isn't it. I would defiantly change out the relay. How many miles are on the vehicle? Those fuel pumps go quite o...

If they did that here nobody would be hungry. There is a deer on the road somewhere when I drive once a week. You see a doe and fawns crossing the road by my house all the time. And they ain't in no hurry either. Deer in the headlights isn't just a expression. They see headlights at night they are n...

Re: Rear differential leak

I got a tool you put on the yoke to keep from lifting and spinning a wheel when torquing and crushing the crush bearing. So unless your using a breaker bar with a 2 foot piece of exhaust pipe over it. I seriously doubt your changing the bearing setting by crushing the crush bearing. Just crank it do...

I'm left-handed. Wow Leeann you must be my kindred spirit. I am left handed and get hurt way more than I shou...
