Re: Astrotardis---Tinted windshield!!

...not at night, and not at 35%. OK, So I see you are UV proofing for your daughter's health, not looking for cool factor... now I understand the motive. You might want to look into the film that TnB posted; its supposed to have full UV block at a lighter tint. Best of both worlds. Hope it works out...

Re: 2002 Astro Stealth Build With Some Mechanical Issues...

It only goes on one way, and if it ever worked before it'll work now. My upgrade plug was all gray wires, so don't think it matters. Besides, with the access hatch, should be easy enough to change around is you hit a snag. On a side note.... don't take this the wrong way, but you are your own worse ...

Re: Astrotardis---Tinted windshield!!

Sorry Rickster, can't go with you on this one. Last week I took a taxi ride in the Philippines with a guy that tinted his windshield around 50% which is actually lighter. It was impossible to see at night and especially in the rain. He hit some kind of animal, neither of us saw it coming. It is high...

Re: BEST DIFFERENTIAL LUBE

x2 on that, its real easy to pull the cover, not to fret.

Note: Book says use synthetic 80/90 in rear, and conventional (or synthetic) 75/90 in front for AWD.

Re: Question about 22-687 springs and body blocks

Hiya Joe, sorry been travelling... lets start working on these... SHOCKS : That's how I read it too. On the Stormtrooper, I used Delco Monotubes (upgrade from stock) for the rear/ S10 springs, Part # 540-5006. for part comparison, these are used on Chevy full size trucks/ burbs 1979-1986 if that hel...

Re: Stereo Upgrade

x2, usually the door speakers are blown. You can you the fade and balance settings to isolate each speaker to find the blown one(s).

Wanna post a pic of the unit? Are there speaker grills in the rear doors? If so, those are subs and you have a rear amp/ good system.

Re: Which Larger Size For My 2002 Astro AWD ?

Yep! Here's a trick...

Grab a $4 can of flat black spray paint and spray all around in the front wheel well. Drive for a while, let it rub a little, then look for clean spots where the paint has been rubbed off. This will show you exactly where to trim.

Re: Question about 22-687 springs and body blocks

Very subjective Joe. I like my monotubes, others like Rancho. 5000 series is not adjustable like 9000 series, but they cost almost half as much. KYB, Bilstien also expensive but I hear good things.

Re: Question about 22-687 springs and body blocks

...just paying it forward my friend. You will get an opportunity some day too. 2+1 will leave you with only about 3/4" difference, hard to notice unless you really look. Remember, those rear leaves will need longer shocks still. Fronts will be stock size. Once they settle down and you add weigh...

Re: 98 Astro Van looses brakes when turning

Fluid is going somewhere. Did you check all your wheel cylinders? Pads could also be soaked.

Don't buy used brake parts dude, sheesh.

Re: Question about 22-687 springs and body blocks

I just updated my post above, please re-read. Yes, much easier to lift, no shocks, lines or steering coupler. 16", so you wouldnt have to buy wheels. If going 17, be sure to use that calculator to find the right size. I have one stock GEN3 wheel you are welcome to. Yes, up to 31" will fit ...
