Re: Need Help with shipping parts from California to Pennsyl

I was going to say Greyhound also.

I had a very rare Dietrich RS body kit shipped via them when I was building my MK1 Golf, it was the only way it could be shipped as it was a large set...i was scared it wasn't going to make it but it came through fine.

Re: 2002 Astro AWD Lower Control Arm

Get some big box end wrenches, your going to need them and that unloading tool. I just did upper and lower control arms on both sides of mine, it's not bad unless a bolt is froze in one of those bushings...then it turns into a rough job! The passenger side front lower control arm bolt stuck in its b...

Re: 2000 GMC Safari Audio Build

Paint turned out really good, for some reason these vans look good in white.

Can't wait to see it with the rims on it.

Re: 2001 RWD Safari Van

Good job and nice work, really liking the truck badge! That's the way to modify a vehicle, one system at a time, make sure all the basic systems are up to factory spec and move on, its how I've always done mine. My 03 was pretty used and abused when i got her, I wanted to put a lift and bi...

Re: Pro Comp 7069-6883 16x8 6x5.5 wheels

Those rims do look good, I like the poke. Mine are -0 offset as I was afraid to get the -12, now that i see them i wish I had got that offset. Can you post a 3/4 view of the van from further away? I want to see how they look standing back.

Re: What have you done to/with your van today?

It does seem to have soft start as my voltage doesn't drop much at all when the fan kicks on...and I have underdrive pulleys. I've put close to 200 miles on it so far (with lots of city stop and go) and no problems, it runs like it was meant to be there, I love it! It actually doesn't even run that ...

However they will be powdercoated a bright bronze.

Re: wheel poll ....opinions wanted!!

I'm digging the fuels, I think they would look good!

I'm the opposite, I don't like many factory rims or solid black rims...it looks like a hubcap fell off...even tho my factory rims are painted black. lol

Re: Replacing Upper Ball Joint: what am I doing wrong?

I also put the removed wheel and tire under the rocker panel of the side I'm working on. Then if all my banging and prying should bump the van off it's jacks, the wheel/tire under the rocker will keep it off ME. Ditto I can't see any movement on these rivets. And I'm worried I'm breaking something ...

Re: What have you done to/with your van today?

The volvo relay set is out of a mid to late 90's volvo 850, it was $15 at the junkyard. The fan is out of a 2007 crown vic, its a 2 speed fan and was $10, I got the temp switch housing on ebay for $20 and the temp switch is just a universal one, 210 degrees on, 195 degrees off, $10. You can use the ...

Re: What have you done to/with your van today?

Heres the volvo fan controller I used, its the easiest and cheapest way to add an efan. http://www.astrosafari.com/gallery/image.php?album_id=8586&image_id=65009 The efan installed, it fits like it was made for it. It even clips into the bottom, I just had to make a small bracket for the top. st...

Re: What have you done to/with your van today?

Got the Efan done today along with the underdrive pulley and a throttle body mod. All I can say for those 3 mods is WOW, van is a LOT more responsive!!!! Its still no powerhouse or quarter mile monster but it gets off the line like it went on a huge diet, feels so much better. I got the rear heat so...

Re: Rear Heat Solenoid Power

yeah, its hooked up exactly like it was before I replaced the valves. I think I may have bumped a wire somewhere as now my ac compressor clutch won't engage. I had everything apart doing lower intake manifold gaskets, I'll have to go through and double check all wiring, fuses and relays......great. ...

Rear Heat Solenoid Power

The solenoid that operates the vacuum for the rear heat, it has 2 wires going to it, one power one ground. Is the power supposed to be switched? I replaced the 2 heater control valves, when I hooked everything back up I no longer have rear heat. The rear fans runs but blows cold, if I disconnect the...
