hey guys,
i need to beg for info once again. sorry.

thanks in advance to whoever takes time out of their day to help me out. :ty:

hopefully going to be replacing the rear carrier and ring gear/pinion this weekend.

what i need is a complete parts breakdown. (assuming all of the seals, bearings, and other wear items are in need of being replaced)

i have the g80 carrier and old ring gear out of an s-10. and i will be ordering the new ring gear and matching pinion off of summit when i order the other parts i'll need.

here is my list of parts so far:

1.Carrier and Pinion Bearings-

2. Complete ring and pinion instal kit-

3.ring and pinon-

i was told wheel bearings. but i was also told i need inner and outer wheel bearings but am not finding inner ones for the rear, just outer. also i am seeing 2 dif brands.

1. AutoExtra outer wheel bearings.
$18 a piece
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/axt-5 ... plications

2 Timken outer wheel bearings.
$42 a piece

i am worried because (2) is so much more than (1). is the price diff worth it? i dont wanna cheap out and get shit, but i dont wanna spend extra for no reason.

What else should i get?

again thanks in advance

I would get bearing number 2 with the race on the axle. I paid 80 something bucks for my axle bearings. I just get the best if it a pain to take apart. I am sure the others are fine if you choose them tho.

There are only axle bearings at the end of the axle tubes. One on each side. Call them what you may but there are no inner and outer. Only the axle bearings. Period. And you need axle tube bearing seal seals. I don't see you having them listed.

Other than that your set it looks like.

ok thanks again..... one last question... then i am done.... promise haha.

i found what looks to be everything i need in one kit, and its much cheaper than all of the parts seperatly. plus its a richmond kit so they've gotta be good quality parts right?

this look like it'll work?

thanks a ton!

The axle bearings are different. Everything but a astro/safari uses the same axle bearings.

Find that kit with out axle bearings and your set. That is what I used on mine was that set. And I had to get axle bearings and seals locally.
Richmond is the best quality you can get for this stuff.
