The standard recommendation on here is 'Mobil1 Synthetic Gear Lubricant LS 75W-90'. From what I have read you will need to buy 2 quarts. This is for a 1996-present, not sure if it is any different for your 1995.

I have gotten as far as buying the oil but have no yet done this change yet myself. Hopefully someone can chime in with a quick how-to (socket/wrench sizes, process, pointers/tips). I thought there was a recent explanation in the "What have you done to your van today" thread, but I can't seem to find it right now.

EDIT: I also came across this....

From the looks of it you do not have a drain bolt and will need to siphon out the existing fluid (based on the above thread and your year).

There is an Allen head plug on the bottom to drain it and a hex head bolt on the upper passenger side to fill it. My manuals say to use 80W90 Gear Oil. I usually use Lucas Oil.

i have tried the siphon route and i failed. i changed mine when i dropped out my diff, i knocked out an axle shaft and propped it up sideways to let it drain LOL. i like the idea in the link above about drilling and tapping a drain plug. if you go this route, please take pictures and do a write up.

How about that, the manual does say 80W-90. I guess the Synthetic 75W-90 recommendation came from another website. Should be fine though right?
