Round Headlights?

Round Headlights?

Postby crusader1xxx [OP] » August 5th 2013, 4:35am

Hello, new to the forum and owning this type of van. (see my introduction) anyway I now have a 94 Safari and when the time is right want to customize it a bit. One area I want to change is the headlights and was thinking of putting on Round lights for that old school/classic type look.

Wondering if anyone has or had seen this done? I don't want to have to completely rework the front end, just thought round sealed beams would look cool.

Kind of like this...

A 70 camaro headlight with the bucket would work. Head light plug is the same. Mounting method is the same. Same hardware is used mounting it.
As close to plug and play as you can get. A little modification to the headlight ring and your set.

I am doing that same mod, I have all the parts except the trim rings that actually hold the bulb in place.

I've seen bulb retainer rings at the Help section, and in the JY. Should be a snap to get.

Interesting look. You may be able to get some black plexi to fit the rectangle opening then cut a round hole in it, just larger than the trim rings. That will give you a fill plate set just inside the outer lip of the OEM trim. You can secure it with black silicone. (just an idea) Lets see pictures of the mod in progress.

They even make a headlight visor to sit over the top of the headlight but only for round headlights. possibly another add on? I had smoke colored headlight covers on my last last Astro they were attached with velcro (my mod) so I could take them off easily when it got dark.
