I've fixed lots of drawers, maybe even one or two of my own.
You know you've been doing it too long when your sent to a job for rot repair and find it's a house you built.

Got the enclosure mostly done over the weekend. Found out I got the wrong kind of plywood, CDX. It likes to warp and is no good for this kind of build, so I bit the bullet and got 3/4 oak at $50 a pop...ouch. I ended up at my buddy's place to get some pointers, he's a hell of a carpenter! Learned a bunch, thanks Bryant!
Here's the basic stricture:

Image

I was having a hard time getting the slides aligned, so he stepped in and helped...
Image

I'm gonna cut a new drawer face since this one doesn't quite fit the opening, so picture pending...

Also got the 50" LED light bar installed and operational, using the brackets suggested by Ironhead79, gracias amigo.
Link: http://a.co/a4VCYVE
IMPORTANT NOTE.... if you use these brackets, double check the size of the nutserts, they say to drill to .515"which is way too big! Mine were. 421, so I used .417 bit, which I believe is 21/32.
Like he noticed, there's a lot of wind noise with these things that I need to solve.

I also got light bar on Amazon for $70, Link: http://a.co/duLY2Lh.
It came with all the wiring and cheap little switch which will all be swapped out eventually but works fine for now.

Here are the light comparisons:

Naw... no mailman, just someone who called it a "mini" van.

(neighbors had to get utilities marked off before digging, good catch though).

Oh and that roof rack reminded my of my experience in 2 parking garages in Pasadena yesterday.
Both had 6'8" clearance heights, I rubbed the factory rack on the first, but did fine in the second.
I'll definitely be short on parking options once I get a rack on there... or a pop.

Thanks guys, wish I could take credit for this one.. thats all Ironhead79... gotta watch out for them Ohio-types, they got all the fancy stuff.

I can take some "in process" pictures with it sitting in the back of the van, but still have a lot of fine tuning to do. I didn't leave enough clearance behind the utensil drawer to allow the bolt head... dammmit. Other little tweaks pending.. I'll get some pics up tonight.

Whaddaya say everyone... When its all over, should I do a Wimptech build thread for it??

Good thing that Rack has the "lean-back" / Aero-tech to it.
Makes up for the Noisy Air Dam you're putting in front of it.

The Light Broadcast looks like it would make a "Whooooshing X-Files" type of sound when you make a turn... LOL
