I'll keep adding pics to this Photobucket page so you can follow along instead of posting everytime something new gets done. Short note under the pics telling what I thought I was doing. DRZ

This should be fun. I look forward to seeing your progress.
With those roof cuts, are you maybe thinking about going topless? I saw a Chevy SSR in town today, pretty cool...

Kenny, I'm hoping that one Astro in the Rockford bone yard with the windshield out of it is still there. I plan to cut 1st the "B" piller about 2 inches from the foot well, 2ed a cut across the roof, 3ed the drivers side "B" piller at the base of the window, 4th the two W/S posts, and last the pass side "B" piller straight down to my 1st cut and lift the front part of the roof off. That J/Y van I'm thinking of also had a good LT passenger front door that I need. Probably all that stuff is gone by now but I'm going to see Saturday I hope. I'm going to cut the rear of my vans roof off at the side window opening, or there abouts and move that forward to be the back of the "El Camino" cab. At least that is the plan right now. Reality sometimes throws a monkey wrench into the works though.

This one? :D It's power seat base in now in my van and working great!

I hope it's still there. If not, maybe another good donor.

BTW, I asked once at LKQ and they said you can bring in a generator and any power tools, cutters, grinders you like. Only thing is absolutely no torches. But if you can take a small gennie that sure would make the job easier.

Good Luck!

Got a new door installed today. I think every Astro that was there on our Saturday was still there EXCEPT the one I wanted stuff off from. Went to Newville Auto Salvage today first. That is the place I used to get my J/Y stuff from. They wanted $125 for the door and $200 for the roof chunk. Rockford sold the door for $59 and said $70 for the roof.

I think Rockford was pretty reasonably priced on most things. Wish I lived closer I would be down there every other weekend walking around.

I welded the new roof on today. Turned out well and the doors fit like new. Now I finally get to start on the "El Camino" part of this deal.

Got the roof mostly off. Being a one man gang, I had to remove it in about 2 foot sections to be able to handle it.
