I Want a Clock - Dammit!

I Want a Clock - Dammit!

Postby Lumpy [OP] » September 21st 2010, 3:38pm

Just a simple, LED (not LCD) digital clock that I can install
into my dash. It can be the type that's built into a typical round
gauge, or the raw guts type that needs a case, or just about
anything. I've got a DIN space I'm adding stuff to and I
want a DIGITAL LED CLOCK.

Can't seem to find one... :banghead:

Where's the magic place I'm not looking that sells them?

Take a look at some Mid-80's Ford LDTII cars. They have (IIRC) a three wire LED clock that will easily fit in a DIN area. You'd just have to make a blank DIN cover and inset the clock into the cover. I've got one somewhere in the garage... if I can find it I'll snap a pict and put it in this post.

Thanks. That's the right idea, but I want LED readout, not LCD.

Lumpy, try these links:

http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=results/Category_ID=70/home_id=59/mode=cat/cat70.htm

http://www.summitracing.com/search/Section/Gauges-Individual/Part-Type/Gauges-Digital/Gauge-Type/Clock-Date-Outside-Temperature/?Ns=Rank%7cAsc

Also try searching for Cyberdyne or Nordskog digital gauge dealers, they used to have a digital clock but I think it may be out of production due to low demand.

If you are enterprising enough you may be able to make one on your own, but I digress. WB6GHK.

Thanks. I already ordered the ProSport that Jim found.
I thought pretty hard about building a nixie tube clock.
The power supply would get a little awkward and it would
take up more space on the dash than I wanted to give up.
But man, wouldn't that look groovy!
