2002 astro fuel pump relay signal problem.

Postby Bigblaine301 [OP] » March 29th 2012, 3:02am

This is frustrating. My 02 astro was do for smog. I went to get in to start but just cranked over. Nothing at all for firing. I checked the ignition there was spark. I checked the fuel pump no action. So I checked fuel pump relay on bench, perfect. I checked signal voltage on relay block, 11.8 volts. Hmm? I then wired relay with some jumper clips to relay block. No relay engage. So I took volt meter to it with relay wired up. 0.78 volts. Thins is with relay in place. Not enough current for some reason. Do you fellas have a diagram or magic powder? Thanks guys. :screaming:

Did you hear the pump prime? Did you try and just jump the relay? Could be the bulkhead connections, you can try the wiggle method.

Well here's the update, I read a persons post on the 2 second rule for power timeout, this was true for me. I then turned key on for 2 seconds off for a second. Did this 5 times then cranked it. This method started it. So there is a problem somewhere with fuel system not building pressure when trying to cold start. :screaming:
