My van had the same thing i replace compressor, drier, o tube, and evaporator coil. You might have a different situation, but it could be the evaporator coil.

Check all fuses and diodes? and relays?
Is compressor spinning the clutch assembly?
In both fuse boxes?
Does the vent change cause air to flow to directed vents when setting is changed?

Vents do change and it also goes to heat and back to cool which isnt very cool. Compressor is cycling however it is starting to sound a lil rough like when the clutch goes bad.

I'm no expert on this, just have a 96 with front & rear ac like yours. The way i understand the system is that both front and rear are driven from the same compressor, etc. It follows that if the compressor was bad, both systems would have the same warm arm air.
Somewhere the single system splits into two systems (front & back). I would find out where that split is and work from there.

On the Gen 1 models, I believe the split is under the van, basically under the driver's seat.

You may need a little R134a ,, but it also would be a good idea to make sure that the doors and motors that direct the air flow are fully opening and closing , is they not working properly the cool air could not reach the interior , what you may try is to remove the engine cover and check the air flow passage ways and seem if you can find a spot where it is cold and feel around to find where it goes from cold to warm , a duct may have become loose or something in it plugging it some .

If this helps the receiver drier does not get cold to the touch and no condensation is dripping from it.

While I am not an expert on this , that would indeed be something to look into , If you have
Cold Air coming from the rear A/C system and the front drier is not getting cold it be something to look deeper into because it should be cold and have condensation, the system may have a plugged orifice tube .

"Most vehicles today use an orifice valve to control freon flow from a high pressure liquid to a low pressure liquid. They have built in screens to trap debris that is floating around. If yours is plugged up then you will get only cool air at best. The down side is that if it is plugged up tight , then the Head pressures in the compressor will go through the roof ( 500psi ) and unless you have a high pressure cut off switch then you will blow a compressor. " quoted from a webpage

Well looks like it was just low on freon. Had 1lb and system holds about 3 lbs. Just would have thought the rear ac would get hot before the front would. Hopefully thats all it ends up being.

A blocked front orifice tube (or filter) would cause these symptoms.
