Air flow is intermittent.

Air flow is intermittent.

The air blower in the van was intermittent so I replaced the blower and the blower motor resistor assembly. Went for a drive with the new parts the other day and the behavior continued. What next? The dash switch?

On the 87 I used to have, it was the dash switch that had melted where it plugs in. Why? Don't know but that's the only other thing I could think of in your case if you replaced the resistor and blower itself.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. It never worked on low. Reason I replace the blower was that sometimes when it quit you could open the hood and whack the blower and it would start. No telling how long the previous owner ran it like that so it probably damaged the switch as well.

I had a similar problem, had to replace the blower, resistor, and switch. Look at the two pin connector, thats where they seem to heat-up / fail, several of the switches in the junkyard were similar.

Melted switch and pin(removed from harness).

External damage to the pin. Note the melted plastic just outside the connector.

Where did you order the switch from and which switch is it? I am having the same issue and also replaced the blower.

Ordered it from Amazon, "ACDelco 15-72226 A/C And Heater Control Switch", but of course I don't know if that is the one you need...their application thing says it fits my van. It hasn't arrived yet.
