Postby maniac mark [OP] » May 27th 2009, 4:36am

Hey all, Im really ticked now :screaming: I got a 93 safari with the typical fan blower motor issue when i got the van the seller put in a used one from a 94 safari, worked for a while ok, now doesnt want to work, took it out to a friends motor rebuild shop he put 12 volts to it and spun fast and smooth no problem, put it back in. Took out the 2 screws from under the selector control panal came out easy, everything looks good and connected ,when you move the lever for heat and cold you can hear the door flaps moving, same for climate control vacume sound good, just the 3 blower speeds dont work!! Saw the picture of the blower motor resistor, took that out ALL RUSTED TO YOU KNOW WHAT!! Got one today identical  ,put it in, easy, put dielectric grease on connections....turn on van still no blower speeds tapped dash, knocked on blower motor when turned on .....nothing .Even checked A/c heater fuse, good, purple wire to motor not rusted out connections fit good. Now Im peeved :banghead:and  PLease help What the heck am  I missing.

Two things to check here.
1-Test for power at the blower connector. The fan motor may have a "dead" spot in it
2- if there is no power, remove the fan switch on the dash. They are famous for burning out/melting. It will be obvious if it is!
