Hi guys. My front blower motor was chirping and squeeling, so I took it out, sprayed WD40 on the bearings and put it back in. When I turned it on, it didn't work, and blew a fuse. Now it just doesn't work at all. Did I short it out with the WD40????
Do you know what the WD stands for in WD40.
Water Dispersion.
I've used WD countless times and then put power to the circuit and never blew anything up.
You've probably got a bad bearing in there so the WD40 will only quiet it for a second to a short while before it starts making noise again.
Yeah, that motor assembly was simply on the blink.. and when sprayed it down, you probably cleaned out any debris that was insulating the motor from a short circuit.
Who knows. Maybe I used to much and it burned, and the resulting carbon shorted out the contact plates.
