Howdy from Oklahoma

Postby Ebbertron [OP] » February 18th 2012, 12:09am

Hey everyone, new guy here from Oklahoma, though I'm not new to the Astro and Safari. Growing up my parents had a fleet of short cargo astros and our family wagon was a safari.

I was given a 96 Astro about 2 years ago with 215,000 miles on it. It was on its last leg when I got it and its just about dead.

Then yesterday my brother gave me a 2000 AWD Astro with 150,000 miles on it that drives tons better.

So now I'm torn....I'm considering gutting the 96 of every useful or salvagable part and puting a mild lift on the 2000 and building a backroads rig, or slamming the 2000 and giving it some fresh paint!

Definately open to suggestions and look forward to your help!

Welcome!

I say slowly pimp the 2000 AWD with a lift, etc and totally rip the 96 apart and build it into a monster lifted rig with a V8. They both deserve to live, don't ya think?

thanks for the welcome. I'll try and get some pictures up sometime tomorrow.

IIn the meantime, I'm thinking I'll lift the AWD and may have a nice V8 motor in the near future I can drop into the 96....

....my wife will be most displeased.

Welcome aboard!
:chevy:
Most wives eventually get to the point where they just shake their heads and walk away muttering something like 'whatever' under their breath. This is a different 'whatever' than the 'whatever' you may encounter in an argument. This one can be interpreted as "It's not another woman, he's not at a bar, I guess I can live with it".
