How to remove door panel?

Postby red98tj [OP] » January 18th 2010, 4:50pm

Hi. I need to replace the drivers side power window motor on my 2000. Is the interior panel held in place by plastic clips around the perimeter only, or are there other fasteners to remove? I just dont want to break anything trying to get it off. thanks

nevermind, I found a good writeup about this here,
http://www.ehow.com/how_5259811_remove-chevy-astro-door-panel.html

It looks like the armrest portion comes out separately. That is good as I can bring it inside and install the new plastic cap I bought for it (The vinyl is cracked). It is too cold out now for the silicone to cure properly.

also the thing at the top of the door panel needs to come off first before the panel. it has one pin on the back, then you need to lift up. i used a picture from Jasen. Its the part where the tweeter is.

Yes, thanks. I finished up the job today. I could not find any metal screws the right size to fill in the drilled out rivets, so I just clocked the motor slightly and installed 4 self tap sheet metal scews.
