Lift Astro With C1500 or Burban Lift/Drop Shackles?

Lift Astro With C1500 or Burban Lift/Drop Shackles?

Postby 96Blastro [OP] » February 10th 2011, 10:38am

I've spent 4 days trying to figure this out because i can't find anywhere on the forum that states if this is possible. I've tried calling a few GM dealer parts departments to no avail. I can't seem to find any online measurements to see if i can fit some C1500 or Burban shackles in my astros's mounts. All I have found thus far (what the GM parts department said) is that most GM truck shackles fit a 2 1/2 in wide leaf pack and mount up with a 9/16 bolt. Can I get any help on this? I'm sure with some help many people here could possibly save money and not have to use the OLV or Autozone shackles.

Drop shackles for a C1500 will work on an Astro. I used them to raise the back of my 95 when I did a home brew axle flip. You will either have to put spacers on both sides of the bushing end that bolts to the "frame" or you can cut and weld the bushing end from your stock shackles to the new shackles.
