I finally had it with all the bouncing around. I researched rear leaf springs to find a replacement. After shopping around, I chose General Spring. They had the best price and availability. Some did not include bushings and some springs did not seem to be what they stated, so beware. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is. I am attaching some images of pricing and install.
Make sure you note front and back of the springs, the are not marked. They are not symmetrical and you may not find out until you are all the way to remounting the tires. Don't ask me how I know.
I installed the 1700# springs. Ride height was slightly increased, but I was able to compensate, by dialing up the front torsion bar suspension. I had to make a spacer (drilled out nut) to account for the increased spring thickness. The spacer went between the axle mount and the mounting bracket. Even though the springs were not bowed as much as the stock springs, ride height was increased due to the increased stiffness.
Installation was quick and easy. I bought new U bolts and hardware at the same time. I wish I would have done this years ago. Ride and handling are greatly improved over stock, both fully loaded and empty. I used to bottom out and pogo all over the place with a small load. Now I can fill the van with scouts and gear and it rides solid and stable as a rock. I would highly recommend this improvement to anyone with and Astro of Safari. I did not find great info on this when I was searching so I hope this is helpful for you all.
