crackling noise

crackling noise

98 safari 148000 miles making a crackling noise when going over bump or humps is thier some thing going wrong with my leaf spring checked them out dont see anything broken. :?
Its time to head toward the beach.

What about the bushings where the springs attach to the van? Shocks OK?

replaced shocks two weeks ago bushing looks good and only when going over bump or going up side walk.

Was it you that asked about the plastic shims/end covers for these? What did you find out?

Can you lube the leafs a little to find out if this is the noise?

I'm assuming that you think the noise is coming from the rear. Have you checked the mounting brackets that hold the springs to the axle housing? Several times they have failed on member's vans.
Diagnose 1st, never be a parts changer!

Will check it out this weekend took to a friend to get the differential shimmed he said it to loose . The noise is heard on the two sides like a clicking sound thinking at might be the plastic spacer between the leafs
