Adjustable fuel pressure regulator

Adjustable fuel pressure regulator

Postby interestingfellow [OP] » March 10th 2011, 7:33pm

In an effort to up my van's performance, mostly for MPG, I'm upgrading a few things.

I ran a can K44 last week, swapped for a K&N air filter, used some 2+2 TBI cleaner*, added a magnaflow 91005 high flow cat, and a thrush triple chamber muff. I can feel the difference with the filter and exhaust (I'll report the numbers once I get them in).

Next on my list is a TBI spacer, injector pod spacer, and adjustable fuel pressure regulator. My injectors are also less than optimal, and I'm trying to figure out if I replace them, is there a more appropriate injector for my application. Remember, my goal is MPG, but not at a significant sacrifice in performance.

After that will be electric radiator fans and a 5spd manual. Do I need the manual, NO. But I want it, and in the end my van will perform better.

Can anyone recommend an AFFORDABLE AFPR and/or source to get it? (If I should need one)
I've also looked into modding the stock FPR to be adjustable. Thoughts or experiences on that?

If I replace the injectors, is there a "better" injector I should be dropping in? I'm not trying to run a pro tuner set up with ungodly pressure on the rail, just squeeze a bit more out of a stock pump/setup.

* Let me just say that the 2+2 TBI cleaner is the absolute best degreaser, devarnisher, gunk cutter that I have EVER used. When I sprayed down the TBi and related parts, the varnish, grease, and other deposits litterally ran off of the parts like soapy water being rinsed off a car in the middle of a wash. Quick wipe with a paper towel, and BOOM, dun! It's only available from behind the counter, and typically only available to commercial customers. Less than $10 a can, but I would pay $20 if that's what they were charging!
There are no stupid questions, only a whole lot of inquisitive idiots.
Stupidity should be painful.

I just sold my 1982 corvette, the crossfire injection is basically the same 'injection" as an Astro with that being said. The Crossfire injection Vault is a forum with tons of information on TBI stuff, they also offer Fuel pressure regulator and information on how to install. Let me do some digging and I will find you the link.

My fuel injectors in operation

Postby interestingfellow [OP] » March 15th 2011, 2:31pm

K!
I decided to have a second look, and recorded it with my phone (sorry it's soo grainy, best I could do).
I think they could be cleaned, you can still see a bit of "stream" in the middle of the cloud at RPM.
Anyway, take a look, and see what you can see, please.
It's MP4, I use VLC media player, I dunno if it play for you or not. I don't do social networking, so I don't care about how to do that shizzle.
