Intake manifold leak coolant

Intake manifold leak coolant

Postby Bigblaine301 [OP] » February 3rd 2012, 11:19am

Hi there, 02 astro here. I noticed a major leak behind ac pump. Found it was manifold leaking coolant. I snugged up bolts it didnt work. So I bought this new liquid in a big can from auto zone. It fixed the leak, and says it's permanent. I haven't had a leak in 2 months. But now is time to go for a drive. Long. What is your faith in this stuff? I believe it's a new bars leak bottle. $30 + bucks. :violin:
Is this a issue that needs more attention? Or do I pull manifold which I never done? Thanks :ty:

Ask yourself this.Did it fix the gasket?Or just block leaks and clog my radiator? What if a piece of the newly revitalized gasket blows out?
I just put head gaskets on a S-10 after he used that stuff. It got hot blew the head gaskets because he clogged his radiator. And he bought a new radiator. No I don't like it.My advise flush the system with radiator flush hope it comes out and fix the gaskets.I know I hate that stuff, because it makes a horrible mess when I have to take them apart to fix it.

I did do a flush after leak subsided. To keep any further clogging. Was this a good step?

Oh yea. That stuff turns to jelly when mixed with anti-freeze.When it dries it gets hard.Best thing you did was getting the excess out.

94 is common for EGR to fail, so put that screen on gasket. Saves $250
