The 'new' one has the crack? Are you talking about where the cap screws down?

How about a pic?
The price of paying attention is cheap considering the alternative.

The Amazing Goop or E6000 glue , Walmart has it

Before you pull the old one, turn the engine so the rotor points at a 'standard'. Imaginary line,a dab of paint, ruler, etc. Mark the base of the distributor at one of the 4 corners below and extend the mark to the manifold. Make the same mark on the new distributor. Check o-ring on new one. Remove old and while paying attention to where the rotor is pointed on the new one install it. The rotor will be pointing at the same place and the base mark can be aligned.

Where can you get one for $ 20 bucks. Im Thiking if the goop gives on a trip its going to be more costly than replace it now.

Thinking of checking where the rotor was pointing but never though of the base good catch thier and thanks to all.
