Sad to say I live in Indiana.During the cold mornings when I start my van.I hear my fan hitting the fan shroud.
(It's a plastic fan mounted to the water pump.)130,000 miles 4.3 L.Rear 2 Wheel drive.

When I back up or turn sharp the fan hits the fan shroud also. But,only when the engine is cold. After the fan warms up I don't hear a issue.

Has anyone else had this issue?

My first thought was a bad motor mount or transmission mount causing the engine to shift/move.But,doesn't explain why it only does it when it's cold outside.
My next thought would be the water pump going out. But,only in the cold weather this happens?Strange this is....

I checked the fan shroud and it all seems to be tight. No cracked or chipped fin blades either.I thought of removing the fan shroud but,all engines need it's cooling.
Any ideas on what it could be? :banghead: :screaming:
