I bought a new distributor and timing was off. I bought a extra cap drilled the hole and with the help of a mirror to watch the spark jump angle to strait up. Tuned. Codes cleared.
Smart! All it costs is a distributor cap. and for that matter, a cheapo unit/JY find would work perfectly. To clarify when using the scan tool, you are supposed to do a snap throttle to see position on the scan tool. I'm not sure if it helps the scan tool, or if it helps the computer determine spark position.
