You should be able to see the wire from the ABS sensor without removing he wheel, it will be the only electrical cable coming from the wheel hub area running up the A-arm. I'm not sure in your van, but in later generations the ABS module is under the van directly below the driver's seat, if you can't find the wire coming from the front hub, try tracing it from the ABS module under the driver's set to the front of the van, it should be pretty obvious. Alternately you could drive onto some dirt, stomp on the brake and crank the steering wheel, if you skid in a straight line you don't have 4 wheel ABS, if you turn instead of stopping you've got 4 wheel ABS.

I want to change the rotors due to some rust issues on the rotor.......there are 2 listings for rotors for the van....1 with 4wd ABS and 1 with 2wd ABS it looks like there is 2 different thickness in the rotors......right now my ABS light is on constant so the ABS is not working ....am wondering if previous owner had the right rotors on

AWD rotors are just slide on rotors over the hubs . 2wd rotors are also the hub assy as one unit.

There should wires wrapped inside a black tube about the size of a straw coming out behind your wheel & running up the A-arm. I am not using ABS, cut my off.

Not an expect, but dont think there is a thickness difference. The only difference, there is a spot for the sensor. My 98 Astro came with ABS & ABS rotors. I have regular rotors, that were on my 85 Astro, on it now.

It isn't 4 wheel or 2 wheel ABS. You either have ABS or not and yours does. The question your asking or being asked is whether your van is "all wheel drive" or "two wheel drive". The brake rotors are different.
What you need to do is look under your van for a differential and axles in the front,,,, or a sticker on the fender, maybe a plate on the doorjamb, if your really stuck look up the vin at compnine.

Is it AWD or RWD (2wd)?

Was AWD an option on 90 Safari GT?

If it is AWD, the rotor is thicker as a whole, has to fit over AWD hub.

It is a 2 Wheel Drive .....The listing for brake rotors say's that there is 2 different rotors for this .....1 is for 2 wheel ABS and the other is for 4 wheel ABS......just was wondering if there was a way to tell by the rpo codes without crawling under and checking to see if there was the wire coming from the wheel sensors
