Wheels?

Postby Boogieman [OP] » January 30th 2008, 6:43pm

Which wheels do fit on our Vans? . . are there any other cars that have the same bolt pattern and offset? . . . I don't like to play with spacers and stuff . . .
I could have a set of 8x16 Wheels from a '97 Camaro . . . but would have to make quite a long trip to get them . . . do they fit?

sorry boogieman but camaro wheels do not fit , they are the smaller chevy bolt pattern 5x 4 3/4 " . the astro uses the large chevy pattern of 5x5 ".

small bolt patterns came on the malibu , camaro , vette etc....
large pattern came on the caprice , impala & 1500 series trucks etc.......

I think so....My husband kept the full sized spare from a 2 wheel drive van for our vans and ours are only AWD. I suppose I could yank the rear wheel off the project van and see if it fit our daily driver, but I won't. We're in the middle of an ice storm LOL!

Is 190 for the 17" ss wheels? Those are what I would like a set of. I agree then they look like they belong on the van, but they really dont.

But, I did just buy these for the new astro, so I guess I'm good...

I got some rims for you...lol. Someone buy my Boyd's dammit! I have 3 sets of rims here sitting at the house. Finally got rid of the stock ones... I ended up trading them at the junk yard for interior stuff. :dunce:

Re: Wheels?

Postby tigerpwr » February 27th 2008, 8:17pm

I just picked up a set of 15x7" wheels/tires from a full size G20 van. I bolted one on the front to try it and it fits fine. I think I need different lugnuts, so I'll be trying the other 3 wheels when I get them.

I was looking at Impala SS wheels (found a set locally w/tires for $400) but i'd rather replace the 15" tires. 17x8 SS would look great but just not practical for me.

Does anybody have a picture with the SS wheels?

I didn't want to open up a new thread about rim bolt pattern matches, so I'll add a question here...

One local salvage yard gave us an option of '96 - '02 for 15" rims that would fit on our '02 AWD Astro. There was a '95 in the yard with 2 alloy wheels that look exactly like those that came on our '02. I brought a bolt pattern cardboard template from our rims with me that seemed to match up fine with the rims from the '95. There were no Astros or Safaris in the yard newer than '95 (except one '00 with both front hubs & the rear end gone - figures!) I could direct check the fit on.

I'm thinking the rims on the '95 will fit/work fine on our '02, despite the yard's application print-out. In fact, I'm starting to think the matching range is more like '93 - '02 - Am I missing something?
