Shops recommendations and locations

Postby SuperNova [OP] » August 24th 2009, 3:33am

Hey I live in the north east New york new jersey tri state area and was wondering about reputable shops to get work done. I am surprised there isnt a topic or a thread regarding this already but what about starting one. i mean were all enthusiasts and we do have to go outside of our own dyeards to get certain work done so it shouldt be unreasonable to have a thing like this here right? Well even though I am really interested in Blasting, Metal work, and Body and or Paint ( in that order as I am trying to pristene my astro up before diving into the engine bay and undercarriage)and specific to new york new jersey and connecticuit locations. How about we sort of you know give a clean page of recommendable service providers. It really could help.

- P.S. howabaout a service swap list as well weve got alot of goys who work on their own rigs I mean what about bartering services between individuals with talents i mena Id do a paint job for some help in another department. Just a thought.
1986 Astro, Stock drivetrain and suspension, and body. Regular petroleum from whatever station I am near. Rest of the particulars soon to come.

I am looking at going to Budd & Company in seattle off of rainier. I drive by them everyday for work and they always have numerous astros parked out side waiting to be serviced(mostly Astro Vanpools from Metro).
I have read some reviews and none mentioned what kind of car they had. I was just wondering if any one has had service done by them, and if they wanted to post their review good or bad.
Thanks

I know it is a little costly but when my girl acts up I like to take her to the chevy dealer so they can tell me whats wrong with it then I either do it myself or have a backyard mechanic fix it for the cheap. I found out smaking her dont always straighten her up. I know a kid I went to school with who is cheap then my moms friend is older with more experience but it factor$ in
