clutch pedal bracket(assembly)

clutch pedal bracket(assembly)

Postby juakherri [OP] » September 14th 2013, 5:36am

I have and 89 astro that has a broken clutch pedal bracket making it hard to shift in and our of 1st gear and reverse couldnt find the bracket in any auto parts store and asked a mechanic (clutch specialist) to do the same and i guess having a manual 89 is rare so even a chevy dealership does not carry the part. Would anyone by chance know where i could find that part? Other than a dismantler any advise on where i could look would be greatly appriciated. I hear that there is a universal bracket but am not sure if thats the best way to go being that to get it id have to buy a complete clutch pedal kit just to get the part.. Thank u to any one who can help

To be honest, I have NEVER seen an Astro with a clutch, and I have been driving and fixing

them since they were introduced. Search for the project that Tinworm is doing: "MB 616".

He is swapping a Mercedes Diesel into an Astro, and having all sorts of fun building and

modifying parts and pieces. You might try removing the broken part and attempting to

have it repaired, depending on if it is repairable or even removable. (not knowing the

particulars from what was in your posting)

ManualGM Astro/Safari vans were produced with a 4-speed manual or a 5-speed manual transmission. Manual transmissions feature a driver-operated clutch and a movable gear stick which are commonly swapped with automatics in custom applications and transmission conversions.
