Electric door locks and dutch door

Electric door locks and dutch door

Postby mrosspa [OP] » September 25th 2011, 5:43am

I'm going to try to make sense of this and not make it convoluted.

1. Rear hatch won't open. Initially I thought it was solely mechanical, but when I insert the key and turn the lock, it neither locks or unlocks the door.

2. When you press the electric door lock control on either the driver or passenger side, the door locks don't respond. They neither lock or unlock the door.

3. When you place the car in drive, the doors lock. When you place the car in park, the doors unlock.

4. I also noticed the front cigarette lighter socket stopped working, while the connections for power on the passenger side of the console works.

I was reading that the dome light is on the same circuit, but my dome light still works.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

Michael

I looked on the old site, and found this.

More specifically, if you find that the rear latch button, the interior automatic door lock switches, AND the cigarette lighter on the center console do not work:

Check the cigarette lighter 20 amp fuse.

If this fuse burns out, all three of these items will not work.

I'll check this in the daylight.

It was the fuse. I've a 24hr Walmart, and I just replaced it.

Life is good.

The old list still has great information.
