Gauge nightmare

Gauge nightmare

Postby Astrojunkie [OP] » September 15th 2010, 3:50am

I really need some help from the Astro experts on this one.
2000 4.3L RWD 180000+ miles and drives like new.posting.php?mode=post&f=76#
I stopped at the gas station.
After filling the gas tank went to start the motor and the gas gauge pegged left (empty)
The low fuel light came on.
The battery light came on.
The red gear indicator light went out. (PRND32)
The upper console compass & thermometer stopped working (black screen no lights)
The temp gauge stopped working ( pegged full left also)
The van still starts and runs great.
Any suggestions?

Just a wild guess, but a place to start. It lost a ground some how. Try cleaning the grounds at the stud near battery, thermostat housing, rear of drivers side head and the block, and any more you might find. Even if they look OK, take them loose and scrape them a bit.
