Chevy Astro Van won't start

Postby Drumz4j [OP] » February 20th 2008, 12:48am

I have a 1995 Chevy Astro Van, all of the sudden I go out to start it and it sounds like it wants to turn over but won't, I've replaced the battery, tried starter fluid and made sure there is gas, fuel pump is working too, but still won't start, any suggestions?

if you have fuel check spark.also if you pull out the battery behind it there is a main power wire that runs to the firewall those are common to over heat and melt losing connection. mine did that while leaving work and left me on the side of the road might want to look at that also. wish i had a pic for you.

My no start experience,
Van became intermittently harder to start, until one morning no start. Seemed to have spark (would flash a timing light), turned over fine, just wouldn't start. Problem was the aftermarket cap & rotor the previous owner had installed. They didn't look that bad...

today I was able to get it to turn over but then it stalled back out and again, won't start. Any suggestions would still be really appreciated.

Is there a strong smell of raw gasoline? If so the spider (fuel injector) could be bad and need replaced. It was a fault of the early mid 90's chevrolet engines.
