hydroboost pump

Postby crgastro [OP] » July 17th 2013, 7:53pm

not sure where this would go so, my hydro boost pump is making noise and is on its way out. i got a quote from my mechanic for $540 worst case. so my question is how do i make it another week or 2 before i can get it replaced so i don't loose my ps/pb? any tricks anyone has would be appreciated. it failed on me once when i was spinning cookies in the snow and the new one has been in the van for a number of years and probably 150k miles. just don't want it to fail until i am at the mechanic shop getting it replaced.

Really, about the easiest job you can do regarding brakes on any vehicle I've ever worked on. The hardest part is bleeding them properly, which is pretty much pumping the brakes 3 times, turn the engine over without turning it on, and rinse and repeat a few times.
A temporary fix usually becomes a permanent solution, therefore it does not exist.
