akforceten, are those the manual versions of the mirror?
I didn't see too many wires coming out the side there.

I was looking at a powered, signal, backup light, heated version, but my main concern was mounting. So if you get far enough along for me to start following in your footsteps, I may add on with any wiring details.

Signal - I'll split off of the lower marker signal (as I'm planning on eliminating that in the future anyway).
Reverse - Somehow tie this in to the reverse lights?
Heat - Somehow tie this in to the rear defrost?
Power - Hopefully this plugs right in... but probably not.

I am also looking at some custom courtesy lights that I hope to wire in with the dome lights.

Hopefully, I'm not borderline thread jacking, but I hope to add to the thread as I can.
To be honest, I was probably over a month out from that project so this will be a great boost and help for everyone.

Thanks akforceten!

Ya, actually, I've been thinking about the size to van ratio and figured the body height on our vans is taller than a Silverado, so... there is that. But the model mirrors I'm looking at have a paint ready shell so I figured I could hide the size a bit by painting the top and bottom body color... or maybe plastidip so that I can easily repair from all the scrapes they will be getting.

Ya, sorry Wimp, sometimes I throw my thoughts around with disregard. A little pay back for all the inspiration you gave me!

I got the mirrors all mounted up an they look good!
To get them mounted to the van I first had to disassemble the mirrors.

IMG_20170423_115933941.jpg

Now its time to remove the old mirror

IMG_20170423_120356136_HDR.jpg
removed old mirror

Here you can see me test fitting the mount cover to determin placement of mirror

IMG_20170423_120416326_HDR.jpg

I had to drill three new mounting holes in the door cause the new mirror was very different from the astro mirror
I also had to do a lot of trimming on the new mirror mount so it would fit nice an flush to the door

There was also some trimming on the filler panal by the windsheild an door
