Apparently I do, too.

Not really looking forward to this, except the part where my arm's stable again.

Hang in there, you'll be back at it again before long. (I hope!) Orthopedics has come a long way.

Orthopedics? Isn't that the Latin word for "scream in agony"?
Yeah...4-5 hours on the table probably beats letting it heal wrong and going back to rebreak it.......don't ask how I know. Hope you're feeling better soon, Leeann.

Yep, just like PT stands for Physical Terrorist. I know this 'cause it was my major for two years ;)

Oh god...anything to avoid the let it heal and rebreak it crap.

I'm not real exceited about the procedure, but it beats the alternative. I hurt from my shoulder to my fingers and I want that to stop, sooner rather than later, and not because I'm eating prescription pain pills (which I'm only taking when it's unbearable). Don't need an opioid addiction on top of pain.

Sorry been busy, doc says I get to keep it. They cut off part of it that was destroyed on the side of the finger and some stitches. Thinking about changing my name to 9 3/4....

Leeann and iron - wow - You guys' injuries seem so fresh - still making me wince.
That pinkie crushed in the 30T Log Splitter couple winters back seems "kinda' wousy" now.
I still wonder if it will ever be "back fully".

Here's to wishing you two a speedy recovery !

I'm glad you get to keep it. That really looks nasty. I'd imagine there were more than a few stitches. I assume you're seeing a hand specialist? My surgeon specializes in hands and upper extremities and even he said I really did a good job

I just had a lump the size of a softball on my arm where the humurus broke - it was the flag that said, "look here!" Besides the fact that I couldn't successfully tell my arm what to do, that is. No bruising visible when they splinted me, though I'd bet that's changed.

Home from the hospital.

Surgery went really well, only taking 3 hours instead of the expected 4-5. Bones went back together perfectly, nerves (actually unfortunately) stayed awake and I can feel everything - and still control my hand. They kept me overnight to manage the pain, actually.

Prognosis is excellent. Surgeon is very happy...and surprised my nerves didn't go to sleep, but that means he handled them even more gently than he thought.

Follow up with him Tues. Propped up on the couch with pillows, ice, iced tea, pain meds, snacks and kickin' AC (it's really hot and humid out).

Did I mention pain meds? ;)

I'm encouraged to move it as much as possible. Just gently, but any movement will help with the swelling. That's a bit much right now; we'll see tomorrow.

Good news is I can get into the '02 without hurting myself and there's plenty of room so I don't bump my arm. Oh, and it's not bad on the bumps, either.

Thanks, but no herbal remedies needed. Never tried it, never will.

Percoset and Gabapentin are working fine. Ice feels really good.

Despite being sore, I feel better than last week. It's completely stable and just sore. Prior to surgery, it hurt - anywhere from a little to A LOT, depending if the bones were rubbing. Now I have incision soreness and some nerve pain, but it's not unbearable.

Hung out with my little buddy Sylvester on Father's Day. Flushed and changed power-steering system with synthetic, changed ps pump pressure valve, installed a power steering cooler.
