oh yeah, put fresh rubbers all around and went for an alignment, the bad part is I find out I have a bent outer passenger tie rod and also just in general worn out tie rods. bad or loose wheel bearings too. also had three bent rims, gotta love NYC roads.....fresh parts have been ordered.
and my front brakes are also shot, so ordered new rotors and pads to include a left caliper as my van is pulling to the right under braking.

on the rack getting her straight

Leeann, glad everything went well, and hoping you are back wrenching soon.

ironhead, hope yours is doing well too, and I wish I could unsee that pic...

On Sat I went to the junkyard, they only had one Astro, a '99 that is kinda picked over. I wanted to grab the upper weatherstrip for the rear doors, but there was 2 things wrong with it. First, mine looked better than it and second, it was a Dutch door, I never really looked closely before but part of the weatherstrip is notched for the hinges, so it wouldn't have worked anyways. I did find an adaptor for the rear heater line, the one that comes out of the manifold and has a special connector. I found one that screws in but has a hose nipple instead of a connector, so I can just run regular heater hose from it to the heater core instead of that metal line.

Fourth of July weekend I'm hoping to have it as a running vehicle w/o any leaks...

Had the passenger door outer handle break on me the other day. I already had a new one as I had bought a set on them and changed the drivers side at least a year ago. This was when I found out what a beotch the upper nut on these are. At that time I only installed the bottom one and have been very careful opening the door.
As the hole in the door in the area of the latch is an inch in dia. I drilled another to give me access to the upper nut. This has worked so well that I went to the drivers door and after doing the same to it now have both nuts installed in both of the door pulls. Hope the pic comes through, do not go any further in from the outer surface of the door with the new hole.

Believe it or not, the after is a lot less painful than the before. The broken ends of the humurus just rubbed together, no matter what I did, and occasionally made the nerves really sing from my shoulder to my fingertips. And the elbow just plain hurt.

Now I'm sore, but just sore. No actual pain. Sore I can deal with, even though I am a lot sore. The nerve pain stuff really does keep the nerves from screaming.

Oh man! That's a LOT of hardware! I guess you're not getting through airport security quickly anymore.
Heal quickly and thoroughly!

Got the intake back together, took a trip to Pick N Pull for the rubber injector plug thingamajig. Mine had turned to gum. ran out of daylight, button up tomorrow, hopefully.

Today was a good day. Went to Habitat for Humanity and scored flooring for $30. Way more than I needed but hey. The I proceeded to gut Sinatra. Then started installing the flooring. Not a bad days work....

This is where cyborgs come from. Slowly but surely they install the hardware from "accidents", next you get the "cell phone" implant, it sends you "instructions" and you are reprogrammed, then you are on your way to take over humanity.

Please, Leeann, remember us AstroSafarians and treat us kindly when you take over the world... :poke:

I've already had the implant. I had a spinal cord stimulator implant in 2010. My body can be read by an RFID reader. So, I guess my government chip is in place.
