The clunk

I think you'll tear it apart, honestly. I built a press out of pipe and angle iron to use with a bottle jack. IIRC you don't have a welder, maybe you could bolt something together. At any rate, a shop should be able to press all four lower bushings in half an hour IMO.

I didn't brain fart here and put the C/A on the wrong side did I? I'm fighting getting the sway bar link in. I'm pretty sure this is right, I may just need to pop the upper BJ lose to get the sway bar link in.

I went through my progress pictures and found one good enough to tell that I have the upper C/A in right. I think I'll pull both sway bar bushings, then I think I can wrangle the S/B around enough to get the links in.

Yes, I thought the same thing for a second when I did mine. Loosening the sway bar mounts will allow you to line up the link ends. Easier than fumbling around with those tight. I super glued the lower link end bushings, washer and nut together so they don't come apart inside the control arm while trying to install. I still have to redo my links to make them longer to level the swaybar a bit from
the lift.

I'm doing Moog links and bushings as well, so I've got to drop it anyway. The Moog links have a washer nut and it's stuck into the bushing, which is nice in this situation.

The way you have them installed, your van will steer LEFT when you turn the steering wheel to the RIGHT.

I was following a hook and ladder truck today and thought that was so cool, and decided I want to make the Astro drive like that.

Got it back together, still need to get an alignment but it drives pretty good. The mashmellow cornering is gone and the handling is a whole lot better. While putting it back together, I found exactly what the clunk is. I'm going to have to have some repair pieces water jetted and weld them in. I should be able to do that repair by only pulling the upper CA out. Not a great picture, but you can see the slotted hole is wore out. This is the worst, but I've got 2 others heading this way.

I have a Plamsa Cutter, access to a torch, a welder, a lift, and a laser alignment machine.

Dave, that would be awesome. I have 3 like that and I figured I might as well beef up all 8 of them while I'm in there. Figured I'd get some 1/8 or 3/16 flat stock, drill either end and jig saw the middle out and dress with a file.
I was holding off until I had an extra $100 to do the alignment, do you know how to operate the alignment machine?

It's the camber bolt slot for the AWD cupholder. Hey Jasen, looks like it's been subjected to some really high impedence. I'd want to be sure and defrag the mestibulator and knock off any wenkleburrs on the radial facia that may have developed if the joint was reinafticated while it was under wobbulation.

Better safe than sorry.

Unintentional separation of the upper verticalateral stabulator tentacle from the cowboy horsecradulator of the rotary momentum guidance directionator would be bad, let alone the surprisefication and puckulation factoid could cause ones pulmonary controleficator to temporarily halt the pulsenation of the fluidual flowation and could even lead to the deceasulation of the compunator.
