I have a 98 safari and the driver side window rolls up slow. some times it just stops going up. You have to let go of the button and wait a few seconds then it will roll up a little more and stop. Its almost as if it is over powered buy resistance and has to cool (the motor). any ideas? yes the track and linkage are clean and there is no binding. it seems to happen in High humidity or a hot day.
the motor is likely , ,you will need to test it , make sure you have good clean ground connections , if the window motor is the only electrical problem, the motor is likely to have worn out , drivers side window gets used more than passenger
Which brand to buy? There are some cheap buys on eBay. but they likely come from China
And we don`t want that crap. quality comes here first.
i replace these all the time for ppl in our shop and we just use the ones they keep in stock at any parts store locally
work fine always never once had a return or issue
they get weak due to age and wear and become slow and next to no power
just is what happens
replace them
i have a pair of less than year old replacement ones i snagged out of the 92 astro recently i junked
they interchange most all cars trucks vans 80s and 90s years if is the old style with metal regulators with arms and rollers
not cable driven
i always save motors if they work good, from vehicles im junking
good luck
