Re: Rear A/C Cover Replacement

I'm glad to see it find a new home. My van has (non functional) aftermarket rear AC, and as such doesn't use one of those covers.

Re: armchair upholstery

I bought a bag of rings and pliers when I added heaters to my dune buggy seats. I never opened them, I used zip ties instead.

Re: What have you done to/with your van today?

I just used the front hitch to move the camper back a little further in the yard. It was rainy and muddy when we parked it behind the gate, even my neighbor's 4x4 was having difficulty in the mud at the time. The yard was finally dry enough I could move it back some as it sat right next to the AC un...

Re: What have you done to/with your van today?

Today I used the astro to jump start the work van. It hasn't been started since the end of February. I did start the astro once or twice in that time though. I've not driven anything in the past month, it felt good to get in the astro again even if I only drove it 50 feet.

Re: Rear A/C Cover Replacement

Welcome aboard!
I grabbed one for someone at the junk yard a few months ago, then they changed their mind. I'll try to look for it tomorrow afternoon, but I may have tossed it.

Re: My V8 Questions

1- AC and PS lines reached just fine on my swap. I even used the stock mechanical fan with no clearance issues. 2- I stuck with the 4L60E that was behind the 4.3. I even kept the 4.3 torque converter. Looking back, I should have swapped it with the 5.7 converter. The stall speed is different (iirc b...

Re: 94 AWD 5.7 TBI project.

It took me 2 tries to find a good one. The G20 donor i took the engine, transmission, computer and harness, the heads were junk. I brought them back and found a roller cam 350 with low miles, I ended up exchanging the heads and buying the shortblock, then putting the intake and exhaust from the G20 ...

Re: 94 AWD 5.7 TBI project.

When I pulled the donor engine I cut the lines long and used compression fittings on the steel portions. I've not had any trouble with them so far, nor do I expect to.

Re: 94 AWD 5.7 TBI project.

As Will reminded me during my swap, the fuel pressure is set by the regulator in the throttle body (you're going TBI, right?). I'm still running the CPI pump and letting the TBI regulator return any excess fuel to the tank. I've not had any issues with it.

Re: trip notes day by day

Headed up I81 or I 95? 81 is a TREACHEROUS road, the big rigs will run you off the road. Like Sgt Esterhaus used to say: Be careful out there.

Re: trip notes day by day

Be VIGILANT about security on your truck. Thieves are going around stealing the truck, trailer and all. My nephew lost everything they owned a few months ago.
