Re: which injector cleaner fits Astro misfires over 30mph

You have 1) a 'mechanic' problem and 2) an ignition switch or key cylinder - or both - problem.

Re: Power Steering and Brake loss

Not less mess, one less thing to mess with.

If the reservoir’s attached, you don’t need to remove it from the old one and install it on the new.

Re: What have you done with your other vehicles today.

Long ago and far away I was a candy-striper at my local teaching hospital. One of the patients I had all summer was a guy that came to New England every late spring/early summer for a month-long fishing trip. He had a blowout on I-84 at 65 mph that pulled his truck (pickup with cap and a 16' boat on...

Re: What have you done to/with your van today?

You’re welcome. I’m glad it worked for you.

As long as the o-ring is pliable, you’re fine. The one on my ‘02 was hard as a rock; I had to grab the intake hat from the ‘99 to replace it.

Re: What have you done to/with your van today?

It's not available. Even GM only lists the intake hat by itself, no separate part for the o-ring.

Re: Sliding Door

Yep, what Mark said. My husband and I took one off at the junkyard that way, then took the one off the ‘99 and put the replacement on. Just the two of us, no lift or anything.

Re: What have you done with your other vehicles today.

As long as you don’t engage 4x4, it won’t do any damage. I also don’t think there’s much of a size difference, but it won’t matter.

That blowout looks bad. I’m glad you’re okay, Charlie.

Re: Looking for advice

I've never owned a RWD Astro, so I don't know first-hand what the differences are. The only trouble I've ever had with the AWD on my vans is I had to replace the driver's side CV axle on the '99 when I bought it because the boot was torn in 2 places, and I had to replace the ATC fuse as it was blown...

Re: 2004 Astro Cargo Van Power door Lock Problem / Questions

The alarm system is a place to start. Remove it, put the wiring back to factory, and test again. The door pin switches - GM calls them door jamb switches - are a frequent cause of incorrect locking/unlocking, especially with the slider. Next most common cause is the driver's switch itself or the wir...

Re: Transmission fault that turned out to be ignition

I've warned everyone about how much of a PITA the #5 plug is on an AWD. Often. Loudly.

Congrats on fixing your transmission issue - it is amazing how many trans issues turn out to be engine issues (must be something over 75%).

Re: What have you done with your other vehicles today.

Dunno why, but a LOT of Mopars are screwed by a 'bad' ASD relay. I have no idea why, but it's a common complaint and fix on the Jeep sites. Congrats of finding and fixing it. Sorry I didn't remember until now that it's a common problem. I don't get that. My Astro is preferred for long trips. Lots of...

Re: What have you done with your other vehicles today.

On my coworker’s Sebring, it was either the cam or crank position sensor - I replaced both with Mopar sensors and it stopped doing that.
