A bearing isn't causing the heat, Wrong kind of bearing, It would just chew up and pop. Keep looking at the brakes. E brake parts cable etc.,

Yes they eliminate or reduce the parachute effect. Low pressure and turbulence behind the van. If adjusted correctly.

There used to be a wind tunnel shot of one on a dodge tradesman van. With the white wisp of trailing smoke with and without spoiler. It clearly was doing a real good job.

My Tahoe has a front locker. Just make sure you got a 4WD transfer case so you can drive around in 2WD when the roads are dry.They dont like to turn so much.
