Re: Parts Questions/Needs

Before we go any further - It MIGHT be a good idea to state - ON TIME - what year, AWD or RWD etc of your van. Consider putting the info into the "Profile" section of your User Control Panel info - upper rt. corner. Your Van is, I guess, Gen II - '95 - '05. Hey sixsix, I'm going to once I...

Re: P0894 Code

Second shop went over vehicle. Per transmission, code never popped up during their drive and evaluation nor was it stored like O2 sensor notification. They felt transmission fluid was maybe darker than normal and suggested a drain and fill. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.

Re: Parts Questions/Needs

Thanks. I'll give a look when I'm back in there to get some rattle can bedliner. Figured they weren't universal. Yes, I'm a rookie in this game.

Re: Parts Questions/Needs

Exactly, everything just bolts in/pops into place, it will be easy as pie. Thanks I would also grab some door pin switches, door bumpers, hood bumpers and prop rod retainer, while you are there :) Yep, all of the stuff that time has the final answwer. Dang it, I forget one other part because I didn...

Re: Parts Questions/Needs

AstroWill, thanks! Can you confirm how the hinge bracket and pin and cargo door upper guide are attached? Bolt/nut or threaded? Hinge bumpers just pull out and reattach if I don't pull off rubber stop of 15-year old rubber?

Parts Questions/Needs

This is both a question (confirmation) and need. I had planned to scrounge around in some JYs but my local one burned up last month and now due to the fires and smoke in OR I haven't been able to hit the others in the valley. I've looked in the parts catalog on the site but I still can't get a clear...

P0894 Code

Ok, don't slay me but I debated whether to put this question here or in Technical section. I recently picked up a 2005 GMS Safari cargo with 148,600 miles on it. Rebuilt transmission installed 2 1/2 years and ~16,000 miles ago. Nothing leaking underneath (other than oil cooler line) and fluid looked...

Re: Forum Protocol Question

and remember, not only do we like lots of pictures of your progress, for fun, pictures can also be crucial when asking for help

I got the memo about pictures early on but right now the only picture worthy of posting is one no one wants to see....an SES light.

Re: Forum Protocol Question

I thought about that but one part may be on the interior whereas the other may be on the exterior. I don't mind making multiple parts posts in appropriate areas but I wanted to check to be there wasn't a more efficient method. Problems sorta fall into the same trap but they're more defined, such as ...

Re: Forum Protocol Question

I've been doing searches. Some dealt with parts whereas others pertained to troubleshooting a symptom or problem so not really able to group other than to the year/model. Thanks for reply. Maybe you'll be able to help once I know how best to throw out there.

Forum Protocol Question

I'm currently assessing an '05 Safari (let's not worry about the acquisition story, etc. just yet) and there's lots of little part things that I can't answer. I downloaded the parts catalog from this category but still can't find some of them. Since this isn't a specific build yet (depends on assess...

Re: Hello from Bend, OR

Perfect! This was the sort of information I was hoping to receive. Given our locale, an AWD will be a must. My wife and I built our own log home and I can do basic welding and wiring so I’m looking forward to the journey.

Hello from Bend, OR

I’m beginning the hunt for a van after two different individuals suggested Astros/Safaris to me, which should have been a no-brained considering my dad used to own one. This going to be a father-daughter build, with it ultimately going to her but with dad using for some hunting trips as well as the ...
