I had it cut out for someone who then ghosted themselves from the forum. I have two versions. One is in wood (not sure what kind, it w...

Re: Cargo Barrier/Partition for Safari?

the express/savana would be wider & taller. the bulkhead metal is pretty thick though & could be cut up. the big "1-piece" bulkhead is actually 4 pieces bolted together, 2 narrow sides & the main center top & bottom pieces. same deal with ford econolines & the dodge fu...

Re: Cargo Barrier/Partition for Safari?

if you have junkyards in your area look for commercial/contractor vans. the bulkheads they use behind the front seats could be adapted to your application. here's a couple of pics of an Adrian 2-piece bulkhead i'm using in my van. DSCN4204.jpg DSCN6415.jpg Adrian also made a full width bulkhead wit...

Cargo Barrier/Partition for Safari?

I took out the 3rd row seat and carpet in the back of my 2002 Safari and plan to use it as a cargo area. Has anybody installed a barrier/partition in their van behind the 2nd row seat? I'm wanting it to go directly behind the 2nd row seating. I'm guessing it's gonna have to be a custom thing...unles...

Re: Air Vents and Factory Roof Rack Cross Bars For a 2002 Sa

Couple thoughts... Those 'Vent' covers are actually air flow grills for the front and rr heat & air, respectively. They can pretty much only be found in a JY. You could offer a total stranger money for theirs... The Factory Roof Rack may not be suitable - strong enough - even w/ 4 crossbars. Pl...

Air Vents and Factory Roof Rack Cross Bars For a 2002 Safari

Hey

I have a 2002 Safari AWD and I'm looking for some cream colored air vents. I need the ones that are by the floor on the rear passenger area.

Also, looking for 2x factory cross bars for the factory roof rack as I'm looking to have 4x of them to run a 84 inch basket.

Cheers

Re: Good High End Alternator?

I had one of the amazon ones and it did not last. As far as the price goes you usually get what you pay for and 400 bucks wont be missed over here, but my 12000lb winch wont burn up either. check out the price on a warn 12000lb winch. I am happy with the mechman so far. I think the same way...I don...

Re: Anyone Run a ProForm Slim-Fit Radiator? What's Best Size

Ebay sells a direct fit one without fans for under $200 shipped, I would go that route. Thanks. I was looking at the Ebay ones. Are you running one of those? https://www.astrosafari.com/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=139784 I think this might be the one he is referring to. I bought one. Haven't installed...

Anyone Run a ProForm Slim-Fit Radiator? What's Best Size?

Is anyone running a Proform Slim-Fit radiator? https://www.proformparts.com/radiators It's an all in one radiator/shroud/fan combination with a thin 4 inch profile. It looks very well built. It looks like it has easy access to the fan should it need replacing. I have a 2002 GMC Safari AWD, but they ...

Re: Installed a RamAir Intake...For a Day

Here is what I did, I cut the snout off an old air cleaner and welded it in to the firewall. I used this snout because it allows me to use a section of hose from another vehicle to match to both my air cleaner and to the firewall. Of course you can use whatever you like that will match to you air i...

Re: Upgraded Radiator and Oil and Transmission Cooler Set-Up

Same however, can NOT be said about the transmission. A trans cooler is essential.. and an extra cooler for towing. The typical configuration for trans cooler is: TRANS > RADIATOR COOLER > EXTERNAL COOLER > TRANS They are inexpensive, easy to install, and worth their weight in gold. But again... lo...

Re: Installed a RamAir Intake...For a Day

Tried the cowl induction with a fiberglass scoop but due to the shape of the hood the fiberglass would not contour to the hood even after trying heat to attempt to bend the scoop to the shape of the hood it just cracked the body work over and over. I also tried to weld in a section of a forward fac...

Re: Installed a RamAir Intake...For a Day

Why don't you do an efan and lose that huge shroud altogether? Opens up all sorts of space. Looking into going the Efan route...maybe a 3 row aluminium radiator too. I'm gonna do the oil cooler delete, and maybe run an external oil cooler later down the road, so wouldn't need the oil cooler hook-up...

Installed a RamAir Intake...For a Day

I've been looking for a solution for the floating factory airbox/air intake on my lifted '02 Safari and decided to try out this RamAir intake. The quality of it is very good (aluminum base), but after I fitted it and closed up the hood, I didn't like the thought of how warm it gets in the engine bay...

Re: A Fix For Floating Factory Airbox After Lift?

You could try a throttle body spacer. Or make a longer intake hose (aka snorkel, no matter the length). Thinking the snorkel is the way to go...get the bonus of it looking cool too! I bought a RamAir intake just to try it out. Lasted a day, then I pulled it off. Lol. I didn't like the thought of pu...

Re: Upgraded Radiator and Oil and Transmission Cooler Set-Up

I added the trans cooler in 2010, easy and recommended. Depending on what you are describing, the cooler will tie into the radiator lines, otherwise you may be confusing it with the giant AC cooler thingy. This is an example of a transmission cooler that someone added on, you see the outlet and inl...
