Re: 95 SAFARI

AC system is working perfectly and the ignition is new, plus the ignition. I know ill have to replace the fuel pump in the future. Thats a future plan for sure. The radio is new and working. The Passenger front needs a window regulator and the door lock actuators need to be replaced. So I do have a ...

Re: 95 SAFARI

Boom!!!

She starts and runs 100%

Took her down the road and gunned it and she spun the tires. I'm so relieved that's she doing better now.
At this point, I am just waiting for a Dorman Hood release cable to come in ups so I can close my hood properly.

Turn the key and it starts is a wonderful thing.

I'll take It for a test drive maybe tomorrow night but I know I gotta change the oil asap!

Then I can see if this really fixed my issue or not, otherwise, I'm back to square 1

104004 104006 104008 104010 Okay, I got a new CPI and this time let me tell you what!! First this I noticed that fuel supply lines went in super easy... I had to fight to get them in the other 2 spiders. No rust or worn-out looking part this time. No leaks when I turned the key. The pressure did fa...

Re: 95 SAFARI

Could also be the damper/pulsator in the tank leaking. That would cause it not to hold pressure. Could that cause it not to start? Yes. If the pulsator is leaking, the pump can't provide enough pressure to the injector to fire the poppet valves. But if one spider has a crack and the other leaks on ...

Re: 95 SAFARI

Yeah, don't assume the leak is under the plenum unless you can see it leaking. Most of the time, it's the pulsator in the tank - that's the little piece of hose that connects the pump to the hanger assembly. Ethanol eats that piece up like it's candy. After looking at the Delco Spider there is a cr...

Re: 95 SAFARI

This^ Test fuel pressure, make sure it's staying high with the key on (not cranking), and then observe if it drops while cranking. I skimmed your thread quick, so forgive me if I missed it. But if you didn't already do the fuel pump/fuel filter, those are within the realm of normal maintenance item...

Re: 95 SAFARI

LOL, when it rains. Just slide a 13mm socket with an extension between the grill and the hood and remove the two bolts. Takes 20seconds, use a file folder or something to prevent scratches. I just ordered a 10" extension from HD so ill have that in the morning. I'm just going to replace the Sp...

Re: 95 SAFARI

Fuel pressure, KOEO? Good hot, blue spark at plugs? How many times did you attempt to start it? Did you allow for the fuel system to prime the injectors, which would take more than one prime cycle (something like 4-5, iirc)? I gotta find my fuel pressure gauge.... Tried to start it like 7 times now...

Re: 95 SAFARI

Okay, so I replace the CPI with a Delco one and installed a new Fuel Filter.
I had to replace the connector on the Spider because it broke .... Hooked everything back up and guess what?

It won't start, turns over but nothing.

For what, exactly?

The lower manifold has holes in it. On purpose. From the factory. Sealing a hole that was put there on purpose is kinda silly.

So that's a factory hole?
