Running a cooler than recommended thermostat can prevent the engine from reaching proper operating temperature preventing the engine from going into closed loop at the proper time or at all. It can increase emissions , fuel consumption and oil consumption from ring wear.
180 thermostat
I changed a 2001 engine thermostat to a 180 would any one know if the computer would be in openloop now.
What value resistor would be needed to put coolant back at normal operating temp?
I use HP Tuners software and its license is for a truck and camero only.
